Eco-Friendly Lawn Care in Cartersville, GA
Lawn Care for Cartersville, Georgia's Museum City
Cartersville is a bigger town than most people expect. There's a real downtown around Friendship Plaza, with the old depot and the Booth Western Art Museum a block apart. There's the Etowah River running through the south side and Lake Allatoona up against the eastern edge. And there are whole neighborhoods of established lawns, from the historic streets near Rose Lawn to the newer subdivisions out toward Red Top Mountain. Ecocare has been caring for north Georgia lawns since 2010, and we serve Cartersville homes and businesses. Our treatments are science-backed and reduced-impact, built by founder Alejandro Simmonds, who holds a degree in Environmental Horticulture.
Our Lawn Care Services in Cartersville
Fertilization and Weed Control
Our 8-application Turf Care Program combines fertilization with pre-emergent weed control, which stops weeds before they sprout, and post-emergent weed control, which treats the weeds already there. Each program is tailored to your grass, warm-season or cool-season.
Tree and Shrub Care
Cartersville's older neighborhoods are full of mature trees, and its newer ones are planted with young ornamentals that need help getting established. We offer deep root fertilization plus insect and disease control to keep both healthy and growing strong.
Lawn Disease Control
Bartow County summers are hot and humid, and lawns near the lake and the river stay damp longer. That's when turf diseases like brown patch and dollar spot show up. We offer preventative treatments, plus curative treatments for problems that have already started.
Insect Control
We treat armyworms, grubs, and beetles before they damage your turf. Our insect treatments are pet-friendly.
Aeration
Core aeration pulls small plugs of soil so water, air, and nutrients can reach the roots. For Bermuda and zoysia lawns, we aerate from spring into summer, once the lawn is about 50% green.
Fall Fescue Overseeding
Fescue thins out every year. Our fall overseeding (September through November) pairs core aeration with premium fescue seed to fill bare spots and thicken your lawn.
Cartersville Lawn Conditions and Seasonal Timing
Cartersville sits at the foot of the Appalachian foothills, and the ground here reflects it. The soil is heavy Georgia red clay, and in places it's shallow, with rock not far down. Yards on the ridges that run through town drain fast; yards down near the Etowah and the lake stay wet. The older neighborhoods around downtown have big trees and deep shade, while the newer subdivisions outside downtown have small young trees and full sun.
That means Bermuda and zoysia do well in the sunny yards, and tall fescue does better under the shade. Bermuda and zoysia are warm-season grasses that love summer heat and go dormant (brown) in winter. Fescue is a cool-season grass that handles shade but struggles through July and August.
A typical Cartersville year looks like this:
- Late winter to early spring: pre-emergent weed control goes down before crabgrass and other weeds sprout.
- Spring into summer: warm-season lawns are fed as they green up, and core aeration begins once they're about 50% green. Summer is when we watch for disease and insects.
- Fall: fescue lawns get aerated and overseeded from September through November, and we stay ahead of winter weeds.
We adjust every program to your grass type, your shade, and your soil.

Cartersville Lawn Care FAQs
How do I get a free estimate?
Call (678) 993-0834 or fill out our online free estimate form. If you can, upload photos of the front, back, and sides of your lawn, plus any problem areas, so we can give you a more accurate estimate.
My Cartersville yard is near the lake and stays damp. Will that cause problems?
Damp turf holds disease longer, so brown patch and dollar spot are more likely on low ground near the water. We watch those areas closely through the humid months and treat early when something starts.
What's included in the Turf Care Program?
Eight applications a year that include fertilization, pre-emergent weed control, and post-emergent weed control, tailored for warm-season or cool-season grass.
Are your treatments safe for pets?
Our insect control treatments are pet-friendly, and we use environmentally conscious, reduced-impact products across our services.
Do you service commercial properties in Cartersville?
Yes. Commercial properties get the same treatments as our residential customers: customized programs, regular treatment schedules, and turf, tree, and shrub care. We work alongside your landscapers, who handle the mowing.
