Armyworms are caterpillars that travel and feed in large groups, often in late summer and fall. They can turn a green lawn brown almost overnight, so acting quickly matters.

Grubs are the larvae of beetles. They live in the soil and feed on grass roots, causing brown patches that lift easily because the roots are gone.

Beetles

Adult beetles lay the eggs that become next season's grubs, and some feed on plants as well. Managing them helps break the cycle.
