Eco-Friendly Lawn Care in Alpharetta, GA

Lawn Care for Alpharetta's Neighbors and Tech Corridor

Alpharetta is two places at once. Along GA 400 and around Windward and North Point, it's one of the busiest technology corridors in the Southeast. A few minutes off the highway, in the established neighborhoods around downtown, Wills Park, and Avalon, it's a suburb of green front yards and shaded side streets. Ecocare has cared for metro Atlanta lawns since 2010, and both kinds of property are familiar ground for us: the sunny sodded lawns of newer communities and the older, tree-covered yards closer to downtown. Our office is in East Cobb, so we're a local team, not a national chain sending crews from out of state. Founder Alejandro Simmonds holds a degree in Environmental Horticulture and built Ecocare on the idea that lawn care can be effective and environmentally responsible at the same time. We keep Alpharetta lawns thick, green, and weed-free, for homes and commercial properties alike.

Our Lawn Care Services in Alpharetta

Fertilization and Weed Control

Our 8-application Turf Care Program combines fertilization with pre-emergent weed control, which stops weeds before they sprout, and post-emergent weed control, which treats the weeds already there. Each program is tailored to your grass, warm-season or cool-season.

Tree and Shrub Care

The hardwoods and pines around Windward and the landscaped beds of newer Alpharetta neighborhoods need care too. We offer deep root fertilization plus insect and disease control to keep them healthy and growing strong.

Lawn Disease Control

Alpharetta's humid summers, and the irrigation that keeps newer lawns green through them, are good conditions for turf diseases like brown patch and dollar spot. We offer preventative treatments, plus curative treatments for problems that have already started.

Insect Control

We treat armyworms, grubs, and beetles before they damage your turf. Our insect treatments are pet-friendly.

Aeration

Core aeration pulls small plugs of soil so water, air, and nutrients can reach the roots. For Bermuda and zoysia lawns, we aerate from spring into summer, once the lawn is about 50% green.

Fall Fescue Overseeding

Fescue thins out every year. Our fall overseeding (September through November) pairs core aeration with premium fescue seed to fill bare spots and thicken your lawn.

Alpharetta Lawn Conditions and Seasonal Timing

Alpharetta grew fast, and the age of a neighborhood tells you a lot about its soil. In the communities built out around Windward, Avalon, and the North Point area over the last few decades, builders graded the lot, scraped most of the topsoil off, and laid sod over compacted clay. Those lawns start shallow. They dry out quickly on a hot afternoon and wear thin wherever people walk the same path every day.

The older streets near downtown Alpharetta and around Wills Park are the opposite problem. Mature trees have had decades to spread, and the shade they cast is more than Bermuda can handle. Those yards usually need tall fescue, our cool-season grass, which tolerates shade but thins through July and August and wants overseeding every fall to stay full.

A typical Alpharetta year looks like this:

  • Late winter to early spring: pre-emergent weed control goes down before crabgrass and other weeds sprout.
  • Spring into summer: warm-season lawns are fed as they green up, and core aeration begins once they're about 50% green. Summer is when we watch for disease and insects.
  • Fall: fescue lawns get aerated and overseeded from September through November, and we stay ahead of winter weeds.

We adjust every program to your grass type, the age of your lot, and your yard.

My Alpharetta lawn was sodded on new construction and has never really filled in. Why?

New-construction lawns usually sit on graded, compacted clay with very little topsoil, so roots stay shallow and the turf thins. Core aeration and a steady feeding program are the fix. For Bermuda or zoysia we aerate from spring into summer, once the lawn is about 50% green, so the grass is growing and can fill back in.

What does the Turf Care Program include?

Eight applications a year of fertilization, pre-emergent weed control, and post-emergent weed control, set up for warm-season or cool-season grass.

Are your treatments safe for pets?

Our insect control treatments are pet-friendly, and we use environmentally conscious, reduced-impact products across our services.

Do you service commercial properties in Alpharetta?

Yes. Office parks and retail centers get the same treatments as our residential customers: customized programs, regular treatment schedules, and turf, tree, and shrub care. We work alongside your landscapers, who handle the mowing.
